The National Data Program for the Social Sciences and its international extension, the International Social Survey Program, will collect data on the changing role of religion and spirituality and how these dimensions impact crucial aspects of human life. This will allow better documentation of the importance of religion and spirituality to individual lives and for society collectively, and give a deeper and fuller understanding of how human society functions.

Science, Practice,and Field Formation
The Center for Spiritual Development in Childhood and Adolescence will be an international hub of theory, research and practice in this important domain in human development. Taking an international, multi-faith and interdisciplinary approach, the Center, part of the Search Institute, will also cultivate relationships between scholars, practitioners, and philanthropists to guide and sustain the field into the future.

International Religion Data Initiative: Religion’s Impact in the International Arena
The International Religion Data Initiative will work with the American Religion Data Archive to support informed public discourse on international religion and stimulate additional research. The Initiative’s data, press releases, online resources and publications will provide journalists, researchers, policy makers and others with information to examine the impact of religion worldwide and will explore the relationship between religion and issues such as persecution, social conflict, democracy and health.

One Nation Under God: The History
of Prayer in America
This two-hour special for public television profiles the ways in which prayer has played a key role in the development of freedom in democracy in America. Accompanied by a classroom series for middle-school children and a community outreach campaign, it offers a multi-faith approach to the history and future of prayer in American life.

Global Pentecostalism Survey Project
Pentecostalism and related movements were some of the most influential developments in American Christianity in the 20th century and are poised to have an even greater influence globally in the 21st century. This nine-country survey, carried out by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, will examine Pentecostal affiliation, practice and belief, and its relationship with other Christian denominations and with other religions.
