Bernadette Horvat
Director of Human Resources
Bernadette Horvat is the Director of Human Resources for the John Templeton Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic and operational development of all Human Resource initiatives for the Foundation and is responsible for managing the Foundation’s commitment to become a “Learning Organization.”
Mrs. Horvat brings more than ten years experience in human resource leadership and project management. Mrs. Horvat has held tactical and strategic Human Resource responsibilities for private and family-owned companies in various industries, including the home healthcare and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining the Foundation, she held various Human Resource leadership roles with TNS Media Intelligence, a strategic advertising intelligence firm headquartered in New York City. During her tenure, Mrs. Horvat partnered with top-notch Human Resource teams to develop and implement breakthrough initiatives including performance management and total compensation systems, employee survey and recognition programs, and enhanced Human Resource/Financial reporting systems.
Prior to her career with TNS Media Intelligence, Mrs. Horvat was with HomeCare Concepts of America, a national home healthcare provider, where she was a key Human Resource partner in mergers and acquisitions and the development of the National Administration and Communications Center, an internal services initiative, providing full scope human resource, marketing/communications, real estate and facilities services for over 14,000 employees nationwide.
Mrs. Horvat received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, from Susquehanna University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Married with one child, Mrs. Horvat enjoys interior decorating, yoga, and vacationing with her family.
