Judith B. Marchand

Corporate Governance

Judith Marchand is Vice President of Global Affairs and Corporate Governance. One of the Foundation’s first staff members, she has been a key administrator since 1991. Since her tenure began, Ms. Marchand has overseen operations and management of the Foundation’s administrative activities, helping to expand the Foundation from a staff of two to its current 35 employees.  In compliance with the goals, policies and objectives established by the Chairman and Board of Trustees, Ms. Marchand currently oversees all functions related to legal and contractual obligations of the Foundation’s corporate, grantmaking, and administrative operations.  Responsible for global affairs and compliance, she also manages relationships with offshore entities.

Ms. Marchand also serves as the Foundation’s Assistant Treasurer.

Ms. Marchand’s professional career spans more than 20 years in grants administration, paralegal work and philanthropy. Her grants career began while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a certificate in paralegal studies. As an administrator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Medicine, she prepared grants for government, pharmaceutical and foundation sponsorship. Working with the chairman of the department, Ms. Marchand supported more than 12 department sections in budget administration. She was the project manager for design and implementation of the department’s Grants and Contracts Research Administration database, which was subsequently adopted for use by the School of Medicine. Ms. Marchand also served on the Appointments and Promotions Committee of the Department of Medicine and was Coordinator of Faculty Affairs.

Among Ms. Marchand’s philanthropic activities, she was the director of a community foundation in Bucks Country, Pennsylvania, that supports health and human services, as well as the arts, culture and county beautification projects. She also volunteers her expertise in grant writing, research and grant proposal review to several Bucks County nonprofits.
